La Serra farmhouse

La Serra is a farmhouse located in the Tuscan countryside. Particularly suitable for those seeking tranquility and relax. The farm is located in a strategic position just a few minutes from the sea and the historic cities of Pisa (20 minutes), Volterra, Lucca (50 minutes), San Gimignano (60 minutes) and Florence. In addition, just 20 minutes drive is the Park of Migliarino, San Rossore and Massaciuccoli. The farm has a main building with apartments and independent villas, over large spaces with swimming pool, garden, park and educational farm. Guests can of course take advantage of the paths in the woods for walks or outdoor activities as well as participating in workshops on the educational farm. Lovers of bike rides can use mountain bikes for the discovery of the surrounding countryside. Near the farm there is a riding school where you can hire horses for excursions in nature. But if you want an even more direct contact with nature, we recommend a horse ride.

EDUTATIONAL FARM

Agriturismo La Serra maintains an educational farm with activities concerning the observation of bees, fruits and trees of the forest and of the many animal and vegetable species of the territory. On the farm there are workshops and educational and sensory itineraries for children with the aim of making them rediscover the world of ancient rural traditions linked to nature that allow them to learn by means of direct observation and manipulation.

The course for Pet Therapy operator is aimed at all those who are interested in working in the field of activities and therapies assisted by animals. The course is a great opportunity as it allows to marry the passion for the animal world with the opportunity of employment in the areas of assistance, rehabilitation and co-therapy.

TYPICAL TOSCANE DINNERS

Saturday evening and Sunday are organized dinners with typical Tuscan dishes. For families with children possibility to visit the farm in the afternoon and stop for dinner. An educator is available to children with recreational play activities.

COOKING CLASSES

Each cooking class consists of preparing a complete menu: appetetizers, first courses, second courses, side dishes and dessert. The chef’s intention is to teach the taste of a dish built with great passion and love. Background music in a familiar and relaxing environment. Participants will cook their dishes under the chef’s vision. And at the end of the lesson, they will taste the dishes prepared by themselves. The price includes: the chef’s lesson, the products and the use of tools and equipment used for the creation of dishes, apron, Italian and English recipes and, of course, dinner. </ P>

WING TSUN CLASS

The Wing Tsun is an ancient Chinese martial art conceived 400 years. The technique brings stability, balance and harmony, as well as being an effective self-defense method. The activities take place at the poolside and will allow every person, regardless of age, sex and physical ability to learn the art of defending themselves effectively from aggressors, exploiting their strength to their advantage. It is also possible to take group lessons or request individual personalized lessons. Reservation is welcome.

WHAT TO DO

. Beaches
The favorable position of the La Serra farmhouse makes it particularly suitable for day trips to the Tuscan seaside resorts. We recommend the beaches of Tirrenia (20 minutes), Marina di Pisa, Castiglioncello (20 minutes), Vada with its white beaches, Cecina with the Acquapark, but also the best known of Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi.

. Historical cities
About 20 km from the farmhouse is the city of Pisa, a UNESCO heritage, famous all over the world for its Leaning Tower and the famous Piazza dei Miracoli. About an hour’s drive away, San Gimignano, another UNESCO heritage town known for its many medieval towers. Also worth mentioning is Volterra (40 minutes away), a town famous for the extraction and processing of alabaster. Finally, for opera lovers, we recommend Torre del Lago Puccini, the town where the composer Giacomo Puccini was born, which hosts the Puccini Festivale in the open air theater with the splendid setting of Lake Massacìuccoli. In the lake you can make pleasant boat trips in order to observe the lake fauna.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

. The prices refer to a week’s stay with arrival on Saturday from 16.00 to 20.00 and release of the apartment the following Saturday by 10.00. However, in low and mid season apartments are also available for short periods (minimum 3 nights).

.Prices are inclusive of linen, gas, electricity, water and final cleaning. Winter heating is counted according to consumption. The use of the air conditioning system in the Villa La Carraia is counted according to consumption.

. A deposit of 30% of the booking price is required and the balance upon arrival upon delivery of the apartment.
