Nigel Konstam – Centro d’Arte Verrocchio

Nigel Konstam is a “New Humanist” sculptor whose work is shown. He has also made a number of exciting discoveries in art history many of which can be viewed in “The Research Centre for the True History of Art”, which features the use of mirrors by Rembrandt, Velasquez, Vermeer and Brunelleschi. Another shock discovery is life casting in ancient Greece, also two ancient chimneys for melting bronze (one on the Acropolis). An analysis of the carving of a Roman portrait demonstrates how the three dimensional geometry used has fed into the European tradition of drawing and painting.

THE ARTS CENTRE VERROCCHIO was established in 1984 by the English sculptor Nigel Konstam. It is situated on the walls of the hill town of Casole d’Elsa. We run courses of one or two weeks in painting, sculpture and drawing from May to the end of September. It is a school, an art gallery and a museum. You are welcome to visit from 9.30 – 6.30 when courses are in progress and after by appointment.

Nigel Konstam è uno scultore e storico d’arte inglese che vive in Toscana da 30 anni. Nigel define se stesso come un “Nuovo Umanista” nel senso che mette la vita e i sentimenti umani nel centro della sua agenda artistica. Ha realizzato importanti scoperte nel campo della storia dell’arte e mantiene due musei permanenti del suo lavoro – Museo della Vera Storia dell’Arte e Museo dei Segreti.

Nigel Konstam vive in un’ampia villa fortificata storica dove ha creato diversi spazi per corsi d’arte e laboratori artistici che sono molto piacevoli da esser visitati. All’interno della villa è presente il Verrocchio Art Centre, un centro per studio dell’arte che offre corsi di scultura, pittura, disegno e storia d’arte ministrati dal proprio Nigel Konstam e da artisti collaboratori. La villa può ospitare fino a 20 persone. Sono offerti anche corsi di musica, scrittura creativa e yoga, piscina coperta e cibo eccellente, creando un’accoglienza veramente fantastica a chi vuole trascorrere vacanze respirando arte e cultura.
